RECONSTRUCTION OF POLICE SYSTEM.
Since the last 2 years the Federal Government is trying its hard to reconstruct and restructure new police system based on their professional skills. The present Government has given a new agenda for the good governance. IN the light of the new agenda Elections were held for the creation of District Governments with elected head or Mayor called Nazim. The age-old colonial institution of District Magistrate has been eliminated and a popularly elected Nazim has replaced the District Magistrate. The District Superintendent of Police is renamed as DPO (District Police Officer). A new Police Ordinance is under preparation presently to replace the Police Act 1861
